What this is

Humans.lk is a directory of people. Everybody in it put themselves there, chose what to show, and can leave whenever they like. These terms are the agreement between you and us; they are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka.

You need to be 18 or over to have a profile.

If you have a profile

• It has to be you.Do not create a profile for somebody else, real or invented, and do not use another person’s photograph. Impersonation is the one thing that would make this directory worse than useless.
• It has to be true. Do not claim qualifications, registrations or experience you do not have. People will make decisions based on what you write here.
• You own what you write. By publishing it you give us permission to display it on this site and in search results, and nothing else. That permission ends when you delete your profile.
• Only publish what you are willing to have public. Every field you switch on is visible to anybody on the internet, including search engines.

If you are getting in touch with somebody

• The inquiry form is for genuine, individual messages. Not for advertising, not for recruitment blasts, not for anything sent to more than one person at a time.
• Do not collect this directory in bulk. No scraping, no automated harvesting, no compiling of lists. The people here consented to being findable, not to being a mailing list.
• Anything shared with you personally stays with you. If somebody agrees to share a phone number or their exact location, they shared it with you and can withdraw it. Do not pass it on.
• Turning up matters. If you arrange a call and cannot make it, cancel it — there is a button, and somebody is otherwise sitting waiting.

Moderation

We review profiles before they go live, and we review changes to names, photographs and headlines afterwards. We may decline, return or suspend a profile that breaks these terms, and we will tell you which term and why. Where a profile is returned rather than removed, everything you wrote is kept and you can resubmit.

You can appeal any decision and a person will look again.

What we do not promise

We check that people are contactable. We do not check that they are good at what they say they do, and verification here is not an endorsement, a licence or a professional registration. Satisfy yourself about anybody you are about to hire or trust, exactly as you would if you had met them any other way.

The service is provided as it is. We aim to keep it available and correct but cannot guarantee either, and we are not liable for what happens between two people who found each other here.

Video calls

Calls arranged through the site run on Jitsi Meet, which we do not operate. Room links are unguessable but not password-protected: anybody who has the link can join, so do not share it. We do not record or attend calls.

Ending it

Delete your profile whenever you like, from your settings. We may suspend or remove a profile that breaks these terms, or close an account being used to harass people. What happens to your data afterwards is described in the privacy policy.

Changes

If we change these terms materially we will email you before the change takes effect.
